The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is a
group of all-singing, all-strumming Ukulele players (the clue is in
the name). A concert by the Ukulele Orchestra is a funny,
virtuosic, twanging, awesome, foot-stomping entertainment. – a
collision of post-punk performance and toe-tapping oldies.
The Orchestra started as a bit of fun in 1985, but since then
there’s been thousands of sell-out gigs all over the world, as well
as TV and radio appearances.
Audiences have a good time with the Ukulele
Orchestra. Going from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana via Otis Redding and
Spaghetti Western soundtracks, the Orchestra gives the listener
“one plucking thing after another”. The sheer entertainment value
keeps audiences coming back for more, engaged from the moment the
performers walk on stage
